Yes I adore this climate… most of the time. But when the thermometer hits 100+ degrees, it’s time to regroup. Not only is it REALLY HOT, but we need to be cautious and take care of our skin. Being outdoors in extreme heat is good only in small spurts. Here are a few of my favorite things to do during our summer months.
- Take a hike. Literally. We have dozens of trails within the city. Just be sure to start your hike very early. The crack of dawn is perfect.
- Find a pool in your area. Jump in and enjoy the wet.
- Spend a weekend at one of our deluxe resorts. They are heavily discounted during the summer. All of them offer lots of amenities.
- Go shopping at Sibley’s Gift Shop in downtown Chandler. You will find a variety of gifts.. all made by Arizona Artisans like me.
- Hightail it north. Flagstaff is less than 3 hours away and 25 degrees cooler
- Invite friends over for an INDOOR wine tasting
- Show off your new Alene’s Adornments jewelry at lunch with friends
- Count the stars in the sky. Once the sun goes down the temperature drops about 10 degrees.
- Stay home. Order in and stream a movie.
