My sister Melanie simply LOVES jewelry! She has been know to wear 5-6 rings and 2 pair of earrings at the same time.. Tastefully of course.
So when I set out to name a design that will be recurring in my Pure Metal collection, I knew that they HAD to be named after her.
I absolutely love this design. (and so does Melanie of course). I created the diamond shaped focal component by fusing sterling silver dust (left over from filing silver for other projects) right into the copper. The reddish tint patina is a result of heat and borax. Bright copper discs hilite the copper and sterling silver chain links bring out the sparkle in the sterling.
The Copper components are treated to maintain the color and finish.
These were fun to design and more fun to wear. I kept the first pair I made and the 2nd pair went to Melanie.
I hope you fall in love with these, too. Please feel free to give me your feedback… here or on the web site.
Melanie earrings are now available for sale on the web site.

Wear hypoallergenic jewelry Purchase jewelry that’s made of materials that aren’t likely to cause allergic reactions. Look for jewelry made from such metals as nickel-free stainless steel, surgical-grade stainless steel, titanium, 18-karat yellow gold, or nickel-free 14-karat yellow gold, sterling silver, copper and platinum. Avoid jewelry with nickel, as well as cobalt and white gold, which may contain nickel and trigger allergic reactions. Surgical-grade stainless steel may contain some nickel, but it’s generally considered hypoallergenic for most people.
