Buried Treasure Collection
Deep within the earth is a gem known as amethyst. The collection highlights this stunning February birthstone. Amethyst is a variety of quartz found mainly in Brazil and Uruguay. The purple color is formed when trace amounts of iron seep into the growing quartz crystal.
Ancient Greeks believed that drinking wine from a cup made of amethyst would make them immune to intoxication! Hence the Greek name ‘amethustos’ meaning not drunk.
